Dear Modomiko, (Sorry but I don't know your name).
I'm the one that posted about still eating 2 oz. after a year and not being
hungry. Let me tell you, honey, I'm way more the exception than the rule.
I don't know why I'm still not hungry, but I count my blessings because
prior to the surgery, my food binges were rampant.
As for you "ranting" -- well, if you can't do it here, where can you do it?
I understand your frustration. The emotional eating is a killer. Does it
help to talk/write about what's going on instead of eating? How about
starting your own support group? Some of the best support groups come about
when the person who starts them is trying to fill a need they have of their
own. Do you have any local friends that have had or are considering having
the surgery? Maybe you can start small in someone's home and then, as it
grows, move to a church or something? When you move out of your head and
into a positive direction to help yourself, maybe you will lose the focus of
eating to satisfy your emotions. (Can you tell I was a long-term member of
overeaters anonymous?)
If you can't get into a local thing that suits your needs, keep checking out
the webgroups until you find your comfort level where you feel you can speak
freely and get the help you need.
You may also do well in turning off the cravings if you can just to a
"protein feast" for a few (3) days. It will get the carb cravings out of
your system and give your metabolism a boost. Once things start moving for
you again, a boost in your feelings about what you're doing may give you the
strength to stop the emotional eating.
If I can be of any assistance, in any way, don't hesitate to contact me
either through the group or personally. My best wishes to you for success.
live each day like it's your last... love like you've never been hurt...
